25 July:  PHOTO of the Day      RESULTS Stage 2

SS1 (180 km):  First special of the day start with not good news for Russians. On 90km Boris Gadasin had a problem with engine and was retired so quickly.

The main battle for top-6 was among BMW X-raid cars and Nicolas Misslin on Mitsubishi MRX 09. Other main rivals such Jean-Louis Shclesser, Tonnie Van Deijne and  Miroslav Zapletal finished the special in lower positions. Stephane Peterhansel won SS1 ahead of Nani Roma and Filipe Campos.

In T2, spanish pilot Francesc Termens show the best result. Russian Artem Varentsov had a problem with turbine of the diesel engine and the power felt down.

24 July:  PHOTO of the Day    RESULTS Stage 1

 

The first part of the day the competitors spanet by passing the second round of administrative and technical checks and for recco the "Super Special Stage". The route of 'SSS" was modified and laid down in Alcaniz.

Stephane Petergansel became the winner of "SSS". The new pilot of BMW X-Raid has shown the fastest time on his new car BMW X3CC and was satisfied with the beginning of the race.

The best result among Russian group of crews got Boris Gadasin. His G-Force Proto finished on 6th position 13 seconds behind the leader.

In T2 Artem Varentsov show only 7th result in category, because this was the first check of his new car in race conditions. 

 

 

23 July - First day of Baja!

BMW X-Raid, Russian Georaid-RSG and G-Force as well as other teams and crews organized in the afternoon a training "shake-down" nearby Alcamiz to check the car and make final corrections before start.

For new driver in the staff of BMW - Stephane Peterhansel (on the photo) it will be first race on BMW X3CC. Before this event the fremch pilot together with his team-mates Nani Roma and Guerlain Chicherit spent 8 days in Morocco Erfoud by testing the cars.

Today Rally HQ, Media Centre and other race facilities started their work in Motorland in Alcaniz for 26th edition of "Baja Espana Aragon 2009".

According race program the first part of administrative and technical checks will be held today. Numerous participants arrived in Alcaniz to present themselves in this event that counts for 3rd round of FIA International Baja Cup 2009.

Very hot weather is welcome the crews, but Organizers are sure that everything will be according the plan.

This year Baja includes 3 race days with 1 "Super Special stage" on Friday 24th of July and 2 Legs with 4 Selective Sections that will be raced twice on 25th and 26th of July. Total distance of route is 1050 km, including 628 km of specials.
