"Africa Race": Competitors finished the verifications!

Rally-marathon "AFRICA RACE" started!

After many days of preparation the 58 competitors in all categories (12 cars, 4 trucks, 8 motorcycles, 4 raid, 21 assistance car and 9 press cars) arrived in Marseille to pass all administrative formalities and scrutineering,

Everything was organised on the base of hotel Novotel La Valentine in east part of Marseille.

Among the famous names Jean-Louis Schlesser on his Buggy in Car category, Jean de Rooy and Hans Bekx in Trucks and Juan Manuel Pellicer in Moto. 

Russia presented 4 race cars, where 3 cars start in marathon for the first time and one car with Andrey Ivanov and Vladimir Demyanenko known among the crews because of 4 times of participation in "Dakar". This year they use their car Nissan Pathfinder and assistance of Tecnosport spa. Georaid-RSG team consists of Artem Varentsov/Roman Elagin on Toyota T2, Igor Bondarev with Alexander Gorelov on Toyota T2 and Sergey Savenko with Valery Shukhnov on Honda Buggy (Fast&Speed).

In Raid category the crew from Kazakhstan with Marat Abykayev, Andrei Chipenko and Aibek Omuraliev takes part in "Africa Race".

Next day the competitors took a road to port Sete and boarded to the ferry that will bring them on 30 December in Nador (Morocco), where the first stage will start.
