Competition of both “Dakars” – the participants get an advantage!

Africa Race and "Dakar" in South America are fighting for the competitors.

ASO, which during the last years has turned into the exclusive structure, dictating its own rules and not accepting any indulgences, this year has gone on some concessions.

 After Africa Race the sports management of ASO has decided to make technical requirements lighter.

1. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED BUT NO LONGER COMPULSORY:
   
   ONLY FOR T5 CARS:

• the roll bars
• the 4 point harness
• the individual seats for all crew members
• the FT3 type fuel tanks
• Tubes, funnels, mountings and air breathers conform to the 2008 technical regulations for cross-country vehicles.

FOR ALL CATEGORIES:

• 2 sand ladders
• the helmet
• the VHF radio
• 1 strombe lamp
• 1 strombe lamp
• 1 compass

2. HAVE BECOME COMPULSORY FOR ALL CATEGORIES:

• 1 Etrack, provided by the organisers (included in entry fee)
• 1 safety triangle
• 2 yellow fluorescent jackets per vehicle
• 1 towing strap
• all-terrain tyres

Concerning the Africa Race, Hubert Auriol made the light technical rules for ALL categories of assistance and press cars without exceptions.
